Funeral services for Mrs. Willie Lee Bowers of Albuquerque, New Mexico, formerly of Kilmichael, will be at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, August 31, at Kilmichael Baptist Church in Kilmichael, with burial following in Friendship Cemetery in Kilmichael. Rev. Gary Jackson will officiate the services. Visitation will be Sunday, August 30, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., at Kilmichael Baptist Church.
Mrs. Bowers died of heart failure at St. Teresa's Health Care and Rehab in Albuquerque. She was 95 years old.
Mrs. Bowers was the daughter of the late Robert Lee Thomas and the late Lillie Amber Sidden Thomas, and the widow of the late George Wesley Bowers. She was a homemaker and a member of Kilmichael Baptist Church. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three children, Emmeline Thorpe, Audrey Glynn Bowers, and Maurice Bowers; three brothers; and six sisters.
Survivors include one daughter, Diane Bowers of Albuquerque, New Mexico; two sons, Wesley C. Bowers of San Angelo, Texas, and Kenneth E. Bowers of Sacramento, California; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Dearl Brooks, Don Brantley, Roger Beardain, Terry Braswell, Mike Brister, and Larry Greenlee.
Memorials may be made to Kilmichael Baptist Church.
