Ms. Edna Kee of Shelby, departed this life at Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte. She was born to Ada Stroud Bell and the late Joey Bell. Edna was a faithful and active member of Palmer Grove Baptist Church in Kingstown, where she joined at an early age. She served many roles over the years including the Culinary Committee, Pastor's Aid, as well as helping out whenever needed. Edna worked for Hoechst Celanese (Fiber) Industries for 31 years before she retired. Since retirement, she worked for many families taking care of their homes and their children. She lovingly cared for her parents. Edna loved beautiful things and was a Mary Kay Consultant for 17 years. She enjoyed enhancing the beauty of her family, friends and her surroundings.

Edna was family oriented and she was always helping and taking care of her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, traveling and being with her family. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Calvin Bell and Joe Henry "Sonny" Bell. In addition to her mother, she leaves to cherish her fond memories, the love of her life husband, Willie Kee of Shelby; children, Wanda Lawrence (Ford) of Shelby, Willie Kee (Kisha) of Boiling Springs and Brian Kee (Trica) of Stanley; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Hunt of Dayton, Ohio and Catherine Bell of Baltimore, MD.; brother, Ernest Bell (Diane) of Shelby; Goddaughter, Alicia Smith; God-grandson, Omarie Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, her large extended Bell Kee family members and friends.

Funeral services were held at Palmer Grove Baptist Church. Palmer Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Officiated by Pastor James L. Smith. Genesis Funeral Service, Shelby, NC.
