Saturday, April 16, 1955

Mrs. [A.] Elizabeth BRYANT, 82, for many years a resident of Athens, died at 7:40 p.m. Friday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Tressa WALTZ, R.R. 9, Huntington. She had made her home there since she became ill four years ago.

She was born Aug. 16, 1872, near Angola, the daughter of Oscar and Mary Ann (MILLS) SQUIRES. On June 1, 1890, she was married to Daniel BRYANT, who died in 1939. Mrs. Bryant was a member of the Church of God at Athens.

Surviving are four daughters and one son: Mrs. Ethel HUNGATE, Maumee, O.; Mrs. Trssa WALTZ, Huntington; Mrs. Beulah WOODS, Osceola; Mrs. Eldora CLARK, Wyatt, Ind.; Guy BRYANT, this city; thirty-three grandchildren; thirty-seven great-grandchildren. A son and two daughters preceded her in death.

Funeral services in charge of the Rev. D. L. SLAYBAUGH of Akron will be held at 2:30 p.m. EST Monday at the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope cemetery, Athens. Friends may call at the funeral home.
