Edward "Ed" Squires
Edward "Ed" SQUIRES, 64, lifelong resident of Rochester dropped dead at 10:30 a.m. today while at work at the city waterworks station, on East Eighth street. Death was attributed to a heart attack. Previously Mr. Squires had been enjoying his usual good health.
He is the third city employee to have died of a heart seizure within the past six or seven months. Claude ROUCH, retired fire chief of the city of Rochester, died last fall in Florida and Fire Chief Art SMITH suffered a fatal attack only a few weeks ago. Mr. Squires had been employed by the city of Rochester for approximately eight years and had many friends throughout this community.
Miles Edward SQUIRES was born in Rochester on February 23, 1885. His parents were Austin and Mary (MILES) SQUIRES.
Surviving are his wife, Grace [SQUIRES], 1228 South Franklin St., this city; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth BRYANT, of South Bend and a niece Mrs. Leslie GELBAUGH, of this city. A son, Ralph Edward SQUIRES and s step-daughter, Mrs. Margaret BIGGS, preceded him in death.
The body was taken to the Zimmerman Brothers Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Miles Edward Squires
Funeral services for Miles Edward SQUIRES, who died suddenly Wednesday, while working at the city water works, will be held at the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home at 10:30 a.m. (DST) Friday.
The Rev. Stephen GUBI will officiate and burial will be in the IOOF cemetery here. Squires was the third City employee to die in the past six months.
