Services were held in the Kingsbury Community Church Thursday, April 17, 1975 for Lulu F. Havens. Mrs. Havens died in the Duchesne County Hospital in Roosevelt April 14 of a heart attack. Father Davich of St. James Catholic Church presided at the services.

Lulu Frances Goss Havens was born February 25, 1890 in Fruita, Colorado. She was the daughter of William and Amanda (Graybeal) Goss. She married Charles Hill, who died in 1930. She married William Charles (Bill) Havens May 4, 1941 at Price. She worked as a school teacher and was the Uintah County Deputy Treasurer for over 20 years.

She was a member of the Kingsbury Community Church and a member of Rebekah Lodge for 68 years. She was Utah state past president of Rebekah and also past Noble Grand of Vernal chapter, Unity Rebekah No. 23. She is a past president of the Cowbelles Club and a member of the Current Topics Club. She taught in early years in Rangely, Colorado and Dragon and Bonanza.

She is survived by her husband of Vernal; two step-daughters, Pat Rutledge of Fairbanks, Alaska; and Marie Kaczmaarek of Gunnison, Colorado; seven grand children and seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Morgan Goss of Grand Junction, Colorado; and many nieces and nephews, among whom are Mrs. LaMar (Reba) Hawkins and Mrs. Carl (Rita) Schoenberger, both of Vernal.

Special out-of-town guests who attended the funeral were her stepdaughters and the Kaczmaek children; Morgan Goss, Grand Junction, Colorado; William Goss, Ruth Goss, John Cuddy, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Keleher and John Snook, all of Fruita, Colorado; Mrs. Jim Graham, Gunnison, Colorado; Mr. and Mrs. Mike Springer, Grand Junction, Colorado; Ellen Smith, Pueblo, Colorado; Mr. and Mrs. Guy Gerry, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Byers, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hill and John, Kathy and Kristi, and Jim Purdy, all of Rangely; and Ethel Smith of Salt Lake City.

Interment was in the Vernal Memorial Park, under the direction of the Vernal Mortuary. The pallbearers were Rick Hawkins, Greg Hawkins, Bert Clark, Harley Jackson, Bryce Kaczmarek and Keven Kaczmarek. Honoray pallbearers were Rebekah Lodge Unity No. 23. Father Davich and the Rebekah Lodge dedicated the grave. Alma Jefferies was in charge of the flowers.
