Frank Fero, 84, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 1984 at his home in Douglas. Mr. Fero was born April 24, 1900 at Kingston, Wisconsin, the son of Alfred and Minnie (Vine) Fero. He was reared and educated in Kingston. He entered the Navy in 1918 and received special training for playing the trumpet during his enlistment. He married Ruth Elizabeth Roembach on Nov. 24, 1920 in Wisconsin. They moved to Wyoming to homestead on Walker Creek after his discharge. He became the band teacher in Douglas in the early 1930s. He lived in Lusk, Manville, WY., Harrison, NE, Chugwater, WY and Glendo, WY. He had a musical therapy course and had a band at the Penitentiary in Rawlins, WY. He retired in 1963 and moved to Glendo for a few years. He moved to Douglas in the early 1970s and resided here until the time of his death. Frank raised thoroughbred horses and loved the trumpet. Mr. Fero is survived by his wife Ruth of Douglas; one son, Rexford V. Fero of Layton, UT; two daughters Pat Campbell of Sheridan, WY, and Shirley Castor of Gillette, WY; two sisters Maxine Hall of Washington, and Bess Walker of LaJolla, CA; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
