First wife was Anna Arndt, mother of Fern (born 1917). Married in Morton County, North Dakota on November 27, 1916. No record of her death but she does not appear in the 1920 census. There is no further online records of her.

Services for Rudolph C. "Rudy" Rossow, 74, of 312 E. Pine, Meridian, Ida., who died Sunday night, Sept. 24, 1972, at a Boise hospital, will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Robison Chapel of the Chimes in Meridian by the Rev. Raymond Beans of the Meridian Church of Christ.

Interment will be at the Meridian Cemetery. Graveside rites will be by Meridian Lodge No. 47 AF&AM.

Mr. Rossow was born Nov. 9, 1897 in Greenwood, Wis., and moved with his family to Raleigh, N.C. in 1905, where he grew up and attended school. He married Vera Simpson May 15, 1929, at Leith, N.C. They came to Meridian in 1929 and he had lived here since. He operated a Veltex service station at the site of the present Farmers and Merchants Bank in Meridian for about 10 years. He also worked for the State of Idaho for 21 years in the Department of Law Enforcement, State Income Tax Division, and the Motor Vehicle Department.

Mr. Rossow was a member of the Church of Christ, Meridian Lodge No. 47, AF&AM, Scottish Rites Bodies of Boise, El Korah Temple, the Black Light Patrol and the Idaho Peace Officers Ass'n.

Surviving are his wife, of Meridian: four daughters, Fern McKague and Janice Hicks, both of Caldwell, Avis Buff, of Renton, Wash., and Elaine Powell, of Boise; three sons, Carlyle and Roger Rossow, both of Boise, and Hal Rossow, of Meridian; four sisters, Ella Besch and Helen Rossow, both of Eatonville, Wash., Clare Wanamaker, of Puyallup, Wash., and Rogena Fritz, of San Diego, Calif.; a brother, Arthur Rossow, of Flasher, N. C.; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Contributions may be made to the Shriners' Crippled Childrens Hospital or a favorite charity or flowers may be sent.

Friends may call at Robison Chapel of the Chimes until 9 tonight. Active pallbearers will be Wesley Simpson, Paul McKague, Ron McKague, Archie Tomlin, Marvin Bodine, and Glenn Newkirk. Honorary pallbearers are William Wennstrom, Maurice Atkins, Virgil Vincent, William Snyder, Paul Bright, E.B. Jenkins, and Orval Drake.
