Leah was born March 22, 1938, in Laramie, Wyoming to Lawrence "Mike" and Ruth Greig. They later moved to the Boise area, where Leah spent most of her life.
Leah married Bobby Eugene Roberts in December of 1955. They later divorced, but remained friends through his lifetime.
Leah spent most of her life working as a waitress in area restaurants. Also, spending several years at Hewlett Packard in a variety of jobs. Recently, she had been a hostess at Hillcrest Country Club. She loved people and she loved the work. She continued to work her last two years, despite taking chemotherapy for ovarian cancer.
Leah will be remembered for her love of life, her ability to make the best of whatever life handed her, her sense of humor, her laughter, and her deep faith in God. She wanted people to know that she did not lose "a battle" with cancer, she lived with cancer. She enjoyed every minute of life, and said "when I go it will be because it was God's time for me."
Leah is survived by her daughters and their husbands; her grandchildren; and her brother. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mike and Ruth Greig, her sister Patsy Hinds, and her son Thomas Roberts.
Graveside services were held at the Meridian Cemetery at 2:00 PM, on Thursday June 5th, followed by a Memorial Service at Meridian Gospel Tabernacle, 1507 N. Meridian Road, Meridian, Idaho.
The original obituary was published in the Idaho Statesman in June 2003. It was written by Leah's eldest daughter, and is used with permission.
