Alexander G. Lefeber, 71, of Eden, was called home to his Heavenly Father, on Friday, Oct. 6, 2006. He passed away at his home following a long battle with cancer. Alex was born on June 22, 1935, in Fond du Lac, the son of Alexander P. and Ida (Abler) Lefeber and attended St. Mary Springs High School, Fond du Lac.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959 during peacetime in Germany in the 11th A/C.
On June 29, 1963, he married Kathryn Ann Flynn at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Eden, now Shepherd of the Hills Parish.

Alex was a retired hog farmer on the family farm near Dotyville and also worked as a machinist for 22 years at Gehl Company in West Bend. He was a devoted member of Shepherd of the Hills Parish and faithful member of the church choir. As an active member of the community, he served as a poll worker for the Town of Forest and was a former member of the Fond du Lac County Pork Producers.
He had always enjoyed the outdoors, and even before retirement would try to get away as much as possible for hunting, fishing, (especially ice fishing), and relaxing with friends and family. His love for storytelling, polka and country music, and political discussions around the table will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his wife, Kathryn; six children, Maggie (Dave) Baudry of Wauwatosa, Mary (Tom) Genack of Wauwatosa, Jim (Sue) Lefeber of Plymouth, Joe (Liz) Lefeber of Hortonville, Terry (Marilee) Lefeber of New Holstein, and Linda (Chad) Vande Slunt of Lomira; 11 grandchildren, Michaela, Elliana, Anna, Alexander, Katie, Carolyn, Mary Grace, Monica, Twila, Joshua, and Austin; two step-grandchildren, Adam and Andrea; five sisters, Marian (Pat) Costello of Fond du Lac, Rita (Jerry) Parke of Denver, Colo., Monica (Mike) Lapcewich of Appleton, Carol (Bob) Gens of Sheboygan, and Cathy (Tom) Luckow of Fond du Lac; three brothers, Jerry (Darlene) Lefeber of Mount Calvary, Steve (Patty) Lefeber of Lynnwood, Wash., and Tony (Gay) Lefeber of Fond du Lac; a brother-in-law, Hank Urban of Fond du Lac; a sister-in-law, Pat Flynn of Green Bay; nieces and nephews; and other relatives, and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Alexander P. and Ida Lefeber; one sister, Rosalie (Lefeber) Urban; one brother-in-law, John E. Flynn; and one sister-in-law, Mary Rita Flynn. Services: The funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2006, at Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Church, Eden, with Fr. Charles Wester officiating. Burial will be immediately following Mass at Calvary Cemetery and Chapel, Fond du Lac.
