Mr. Cicero Virgil Potts, 82, of NC 801 South, Advance, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007 at Clemmons Nursing and Rehabilitation in Clemmons.
Mr. Potts was born in Davie County on Sept. 28, 1925 to the late Archie Edward and Alice Rosalie Wood Potts.He was a member of Advance United Methodist Church and was a veteran of the US Army, having served during World War II. He was a retired, self employed painter and enjoyed spending time with family.
He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Nell Poole and Doris Gwyn, and 2 brothers, Gilbert Ray Potts and Billy Joe Potts.
Survivors: his wife of 56 years, Lillie Mae Bailey Potts of the home; a son, Timothy Virgil (Peggy) Potts Sr. of Advance; 2 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Wilma Phelps of Advance and Rosalie (John) Allen of Florida; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
The funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, at Advance United Methodist Church with Rev. Harry Sammons officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. The family received friends Dec. 3 at Eaton Funeral Home in Mocksville.
