Magnhild L. Bergh was born in Brandon Township, Douglas County on June 9, 1883, the daughter of Anton and Anna Strom. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith, attended school and grew to adulthood in Brandon, Minnesota. On January 26, 1905, she was united in marriage to Emil E. Bergh, at Brandon, Minnesota. Mr. and Mrs. Bergh farmed in Brandon township until 1943, when they retired and moved into Brandon. Mr. Bergh preceded her in death. Mrs. Bergh entered the Crestview Manor Rest Home at Evansville, Minnesota in 1969, where she passed away, April 30, 1972, at the age of 88 years.
Surviving are four sons and three daughters: Henry Bergh of Minneapolis; Philip Bergh of Long Prairie; Miriam (Mrs. Vic Ahrens) of Sterling, Ill.; Lloyd Bergh of Long Prairie; Ira Bergh of Brandon; Lillian (Mrs. Ralph Ness) of Denver, Colo.; LaVerle (Mrs. Charles Wilken) of New Brighton; also surviving are nineteen grandchildren and twenty-eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother, Henry Strom
Funeral services were held May 3, 1972 from Chippewa Lutheran Church, Brandon, Minnesota, Rev. John L. Quam officiating. Interment was at Brandon cemetery, Brandon, Minnesota. Pallbearers were Harvey Olson, Glen Olson, Ole Langos, Hillard Nelson, Roy Strom and Edwin Larson.
