Tyson (Doc) Hicks, 79, 442 W. Main St., Greenville, passed away at Wayne Hospital at 4:30 a.m. Sunday following a lengthy illness. He had been a patient at the hospital for two days.
Mr. Hicks was born in Tennessee, but spent most of his life in Ohio.
A cook by profession, he had operated several restaurants, including the Silver Dome, Dayton, the Greenville Pine Street Inn and the B-Line Truck Stop, north of Greenville. During the past several years, he supplied pies for many of the local restaurants.
He attended the Greenville Creek Christian Church.
Survivors include one son, Ted Hicks, 131 W. Harmon Dr., Greenville; and two grandchildren. his wife, Nellie Midlam hicks, died in 1966.
Services will be held at the Miller Funeral Home, Greenville, at 2 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. F. Douglas Nixon officiating. Burial will follow in the Teegarden Cemetery.
