William D. Lively:

William David Lively, 81, of Crab Orchard, died at 12:10 Thursday, Aug. 20, in a Beckley hospital, following a long illness. Born June 13, 1911, at War Ridge, he was son of the David and Ora Bailey Lively. Mr. Lively was a retired coal miner, a former railroad employee and former owner of the Talcott Feed and Hardware, Talcott. He was a member of the Glen View Independent Baptist Church and a 51 year resident of Crab Orchard. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Lloyd, Arthur, Alfred, Frank and James Lively; and four sisters, Hettie Honaker, Ana Ballengee, Ruby Bear and Margaret Mann. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Pearl Nelson Lively; two sons, Billy Joe and his wife, Marcie Lively, of Sherwood, Ohio, and David Steven and his wife Jenetta Lively, of Crab Orchard; two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Lena) Gunther of MacArthur and Mrs. William (Norma Lee) Foreman of Crab Orchard; a brother, Harry Lively of Lowell; a sister, Mrs. Herman (Dessie) Maddy of Selma, Va.; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel with Pastor Duane Pease officiating. Burial followed in the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity. Friends call at the funeral home Friday between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. Pallbearers were Gary and Arnold Martin, Gerald Gray, John Neal, Lacy Welch and Eugene Radford. Arrangements were by the Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home, Beckley.
