Death of Jas. Alexander
Rev. Jas. Alexander, aged 45 years, died Monday, Dec. 23, at his home east of Davis. He took sick with the "flu" Dec. 15 and in three days pneumonia developed, causing his death. His remains were interred in a family graveyard near his home, on Christmas Day, Rev. J. J. Franklin of this city conducting the service. He was a full blood Chickasaw Indian and lived in this section all his life. About two years ago he was ordained as a Baptist minister and was serving as a missionary in his Association when death overtook.
