Funeral services for Mrs. Clara Bell Gunnels. 82 of Elkhart, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Bailey Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Richard Melton officiating.
Burial will be in the Pilgrim Cemetery.
Mrs. Gunnels died Wednesday in Anderson County Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Gunnels was born in Elkhart on Jan. 8, 1898 a daughter of the late William Joseph and Icephenia Parker Kennedy, a descendant of the pioneer Parker family of Elkhart. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, James A. Gunnels of Elkhart; two sons, W.J. Gunnels of Abilene and W.E. Gunnels of Corpus Christi; four daughters, Mrs. Clifton Hale of Abilene, Mrs. Connie Rosson of Sweetwater, Mrs. Ava Lee Balko, of Lingo, N.M., and Mrs. Virginia Ann Henderson of Slocum; one half brother, Edwin Kennedy of Port Arthur; three half sisters, Mrs. Ethel Mace of Elkhart, Mrs. Lena Anderson of Dallas and Mrs. Fannie Maud Smith of Houston; 25 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Condolence calls will be received at the home of Mrs. Ina Lee Gunnels
of Rt. 1 Elkhart.
