Allie James Kennedy was the son of William J. and Ida May Walling Kennedy. His parents are buried in Pilgrim Cemetery. He shares a stone with his wife, Minnie C. Parker Kennedy.

OBITUARY: Palestine (TX) Herald-Press, Wednesday, 8 March 1967:

Funeral services for Al J. Kennedy, 63, of Elkhart, will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in Hassell & Foster Chapel with the Rev. Benny Burlison officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories.
Pallbearers will be P. L. Ellis, L. L. Harris, Cecil Dixon, B. O. Newton, Mike Gilmore and Weldon Easley.

An Elkhart native, he was a son of the late Joseph Kennedy and Mrs. Ida Mae Walling Kennedy.
He died Tuesday at 9: 15 p.m. in a local hospital following an illness of several months. A pipefitter, he was a member of Pipefitters Local No. 195, Beaumont. He lived in Nederland 27 years before returning to Elkhart last September.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Minnie Parker (Cal) Kennedy of Elkhart; two sons, James Truett Kennedy of Houston and Jack M. Kennedy of Nederland; two brothers, Edwin Kennedy of Groves and Thea Kennedy of Dallas; three sisters, Mrs. Ethel Steadman of Palestine, Mrs. Fannie Maude Smith of Houston and Mrs. Lena Anderson of Dallas; two grandchildren, Stanley Truett Kennedy of Nederland and Miss Kimberly Ann Kennedy of Houston, and several nieces and nephews.
