Funeral services for Nancy Caroline Motes [Moats], 87, Town Creek 2, who died May 14 at Keller Memorial Hospital in Sheffield were May 16 at Old Liberty Congregational Christian Church Rev. Wayne Vess officiated, with burial in the adjoining cemetery, Elliott Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include a son, Earl Motes [Moats], Remlap; two daughters, Mrs. Lula Mae Proctor, Town Creek and Mrs. Virgie Glenn, Decatur; a brother, Joe Tolbert Leighton; four sisters, Mrs. Della Cotton, Moulton, Mrs. Bertie Davis and Mrs. Gladys Vandiver, both of Leighton, and Mrs. Zula Kimbrell, Tennessee; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Kenneth Motes, Dwight Motes, Daniel Peoples, Steve Glenn, Maurice Terry and Lelbern Beaver. She was a member of the New Liberty Congregational Church.
