Brigita Nordgran Decker, 87, passed away peacefully at her home while surrounded by her family on August 14, 2009. She resided at 12247 South Madison Ridge Lane (1635 West) in Riverton, Utah at the time of her death.
-Born in Rigby, Idaho on February 22, 1922 to Jared and Ruth Nordgran.
-She married Merritt Steven Decker on October 11, 1940; later solemnized in the Jordan River Temple.
-She was a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved her family, loved to paint and loved to cook.
-She spent many hours in service to others and taught her children compassion and hard work. She worked side by side with her husband at the Riverton Senior Citizen Center for many years. She was a faithful member of the LDS Church.
-Preceded in death by her husband, Merritt S. Decker, six brothers, and two son-in-laws, Joel Rucker and John Pezely. Survived by her children, Jared Decker (Suni), Josephine Timothy (Doyle), Suzanne Allinson (William), Merritt Danny Decker (Stacie), Denise Rucker and sister Bessie Lowther and brother Jay Nordgran, 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and dog, Cricket.
-Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 17, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Bluffdale LDS Church, 14400 South Redwood Road (1700 West). Friends may call on Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Broomhead Funeral Home, 12600 South 2200 West, and on Monday one hour prior at the Church.
Interment: Utah Veteran's Memorial Park.
