DONGOLA, Ill. -- Leroy Eddleman, 80, of Dongola died Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2009, at the home of a son.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 8 to 10 a.m. Monday at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola and until time of service at First Lutheran Church.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with the Rev. Tim Heinecke officiating. Burial will be in Meisenheimer Cemetery with military honors by Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455 and Illinois National Guard.
Friday, August 14, 2009 seMissourianLeroy Eddleman, 80, died at 11:45 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2009, at the home of his son.

He was born Nov. 4, 1928, in Dongola, to Archie and Amy (Lingle) Eddleman.

Leroy married Janet Otten on Dec. 30, 1954; she survives him.

He served his country honorably in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War.

Leroy was a member of First Lutheran Church in Dongola and a life long farmer and a member of Farm Bureau. He was an Oliver Tractor fan.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Eddleman of Dongola; two sons, Mark (Janice) Eddleman and Dana (Jama) Eddleman, both of Dongola; four grandchildren, Tyler, Karlie, Seth and Kelsie; two sisters, Lula Belle Porter of St. Louis and Linda McIntosh of Marion; two brothers, Artie Eddleman of Dongola and Gene Eddleman of Anna; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Bob.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 17, 2009, in First Lutheran Church in Dongola, with the Rev. Tim Heinecke officiating. Interment will be in Meisenheimer Cemetery, with military honors conducted by VFW Carroll P. Foster Post 3455 and Illinois National Guard. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 16, 2009 and from 8 to 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 17, 2009, at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola; and again, after 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 17, 2009, the church.

Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church or Meisenheimer Cemetery and will be accepted at the funeral home and the church.
