Ida May (Adams) Fisher Brodbeck, 83, of Decatur, IN went to be with the Lord at 2:20 p.m. on Monday, November 8, 2010 at her residence, after 2 months hospitalization in Ft. Wayne. She was born on July 24, 1927 to the late George and Callie (Gross) Adams in West Liberty, KY. She first married William "Bill" Fisher on December 20, 1947; he passed away on December 14, 1988. On June 6, 1992 she married Walter I. "Ike" Brodbeck; he survives in Decatur, IN.
She is also survived by a daughter Karen K. (Richard) Kraner of Glenmore, OH; 2 sons Richard W. (Karen) Fisher of Decatur, IN and Jerry L. (Vicki) Fisher of Ft. Wayne, IN; 3 sisters Mrs. Ethel (Charles) Hamrick of Decatur, IN, Mrs. Ina Friedt of Decatur, IN, and Mrs. Reva Davis of Fairborn, OH ; 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her 4 brothers George Jr., Orlon, Jesse, and William Adams; one sister Lorene Caskey.
Ida was a member of Cornerstone Community Church in Decatur, IN. She retired from Central Soya Bag Service in 1979 after 30 years of service.
Her biggest joys in life were her children and grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2:00 – 4:00 & 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at Haggard & Sefton Funeral Home and also 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 11, 2010 at Cornerstone Community Church, with Rev. Floyd Vieth and Rev. Mark Beers officiating. Burial will take place in the Decatur Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Cornerstone Community Church, Family Hospice of Northeast Indiana or Tri-County Dialysis.
