Mrs. Lorene Adams Caskey, age 85 of Hwy 7, West Liberty, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2009 in Jackson, Ky following an extended illness.

She was born November 17, 1923 in Morgan County, Kentucky; daughter of the late George Adams & Callie Gross Adams.

Lorene was a member of the Lick Fork Pentecostal Church and attended regularly as long as her health permitted.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Lee Caskey, and four brothers, William Adams, Orlan Adams, Jesse Adams and George Adams Jr and three brothers-in-law, Drexel Davis, Bill Fisher & Russell Freidt.

Survivors include three daughters. Janice & Ronnie Gevedon of Crab Orchard, KY; Diane & Gerald Smith of Hartford, KY; Patricia & Darrell Ross of Ezel, KY. One son, Danny & Stephanie Caskey of Campton, KY. Eight grandchildren: Hank Gevedon, Gerri Gentry, Terri Perry, Leah Manley, Darren Ross, Chris Caskey, Stephen Caskey and Cameron Caskey. Eight great-grandchildren: Renee Batterton, Rebekah Gevedon, Amanda Wagner. Jessica Cox, Derrick Turner. Brian White, Khristen Ross and Dana Manley. Two great-great-grandchildren Zander Rice and Logan Gevedon.

Four sisters; Ethel & Charles Hamrick, Ina & Kenny Freidt, Ida & Ike Brodbeck all of Decateur, Indiana. and Reva Davis of Fairborn, Ohio. Three sisters-in-law; Cathleen Adams, Delma Moore and Betty Adams all of Fairborn, Ohio.

Lorene retired from Licking Valley RECC after 27 years of service. There were many things she enjoyed doing-sewing, quilting, cooking, attending church, traveling and her family. She and her husband Lee, traveled extensively in their later life. Lorene was also a loyal caregiver and helped to care for some of both her family and Lee's. During the last two years of her life she was a resident at the Wolfe County Health Care Center due to illness.

Funeral service will be conducted 10:00 am Friday, June 5, 2009 at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Chapel with Rev. Eugene Haney officiating. Burial will follow at the Caskey Cemetery in West Liberty, Kentucky.

Visitation after 6:00 PM Thursday at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home in West Liberty, KY.
