Funeral services for George A. Alderton, 41, who was struck by a train near Houghton, Michigan, will be held at 10 a.m. in the Catholic Church in Laona with burial in the Catholic cemetery in Laona.
The body will lie in state in the Alderton home, 1116 Pinos street, from 3 p.m. today until Saturday morning. The rosary for Mr. Alderton will be said at 8 p.m. Friday in the home.
Mr. Alderton was born October 16, 1908, in Lansbery, Michigan. He lived in Laona most of his life and came to Rhinelander about three years ago. He married the former Winifred D. Butler on May 14, 1930.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Janet, and two sons, James and Douglas, all at home; the father F.E. Alderton, Rhinelander; one sister, Mrs. Bradley Freeborn, Rhinelander; and six brothers, Felix of Laona, Francis of Laona, Raymond in Alaska, Robert of Chicago, Joseph of Milwaukee and John of Tacoma, Washington.
