F.E. Alderton, a resident of the town of Cresent, died suddenly yesterday afternoon in his home after a short illness. He was 82 years of age.
Born in Blissfield, Michigan, February 16, 1866, Mr. Alderton was married to to Dora Estey in 1885. Fifteen years later, following the death of his first wife, he married Georgianna Bourassa. Mrs. Alderton died in 1941.
Mr. Alderton was a resident here for 16 years during which he operated several taverns. Prior to this time he owned a farm near Laona. He was a member of St. Mary's Church.
The body will lie in state in the Hildebrand Funeral Home from Thursday noon until Friday evening. Services will be held Saturday morning in St. Leonard's Church in Laona and burial will be in the Laona Cemetery.
Mr. Alderton is survived by six sons, Felix and Francis of Laona, Raymond of Fairbanks, Alaska, Robert of Chicago, Joe of Milwaukee and John of Tacoma, Washington, and one daughter, Mrs. Brad Freeborn of Rhinelander. Three sons, Hurley, Chester and George preceded him in death.
