On June 5, 1917 Arthur signed a WWI Draft Registration Card. It states he was a natural born citizen bor on December 12, 1890 in Momence, Illinois. He was a farm laborer for Edward Werder and we know that based on the 1910 census as mentioned above. It states he is married at this time and has a wife and 1 child dependent on him. His physical description is that he is short with slender build, grey eyes, brown hair, he is NOT bald and has no distinguishing features.
By the 1920 Census Arthur had married Virginia Hayden and they were renting their home in Yellowhead, Kankakee, Illinois and had two children, Jacqueline age 5 and Sarah age 1
IN the 1930 Census they were living in Momence, Kankakee, Illinois and Jacqueline was now 15, Sarah now 11 and they added John age 6 and Arthur age 2.
1940 census shows them still in Momence, Kankakee, Illinois. Arthur's occupation is shop work and they are renting their home. His highest grade completed was 7th grade. Two of their children were still at home, John age 16 and Arthur age 13.
