Born a British subject, died an American citizen.

FREDERICK KELLOGG was the son of LUCY POWELL and ASA KELLOGG, both born in MA. From 4 July 1812 until 4 Sept 1812 he served as an ensign in the New York State Militia at Ogdensburg, NY under Capt. JACOB HENRY in the company of Col. THOMAS P. BENEDICT. This was during the war of 1812. His pay was $40.

FREDERICK was married three times. His wives were:
