HEPPNER - A.M. "Bebe" Munkers, 85, of Heppner died Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, at Pioneer Memorial Hospital in Heppner. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7 at the Heppner Masonic Cemetery.
Mrs. Munkers was born June 17, 1924, in Willows to Maurice and Rosetta Deos Sharrard, the seventh of eight children. She attended Arlington High School and graduated in 1942. She married Riley Munkers in Goldendale, Wash., in 1945.
She was very active in her community and in her sons' activities. Over the years she was employed by the Morrow County School District and Murray's Drugs.
Mrs. Munkers is survived by sons Donald Munkers of Burns and Gary Munkers of Lexington; brother Gene Sharrard of Vancouver, Wash,; sisters Blanche Simms of Boise, Idaho, and Billie Walker of Los Olivos, Calif.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Riley Munkers; brothers Francis, Stan and Haskell Sharrard; and sister Velma Wilkens.
