Louise Bachman, 70, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 1936, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids.

Funeral services were 1:30 p.m., Friday, April 10, at the Methodist Church in Clarence, with the Rev. George H. Goodrick officiating. Burial will be in the Clarence Cemetery, Clarence, Iowa.

Louise Bauman was born December 8, 1865, in Michigan City, Indiana, the daughter of John and Eva (Blank) Bauman. The family moved to Aurora, Illinois, in 1866, where they remained for three years, then moved to Clarence, in 1869. She received her education in the rural Garrison school. She married William Bachman on March 4, 1891. They were the parents of five children. The couple farmed northeast of Clarence, until they retired 1919, and moved to Clarence. His son Arthur and his family now farms the family farm. William preceded her in death on November 22, 1923. She was a member of the Methodist Church in Clarence, the ladies' organizations, the Women's Foreign Missionary Society and a member of the Wednesday Literary Club.

Surviving are two sons, Arthur (Irma) Bachman and Fred (Edith) Bachman, both of Clarence; one daughter, Clara Bachman of Independence; six grandchildren; three brothers, John (Mary) Baumann and George and Henry Baumann, all of Clarence; one sister, Lydia Baumann of Clarence; one sister-in-law, Minnie Baumann of Battle Creek; and one brother-in-law, Christian Oetting of Long Beach, CA.

She preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, Eva Bachman in infancy, one son, Edgar Bachman, one sister, Barbara Oetting and three nephews, Henry, Ray and John Baumann. Three siblings died earlier in Germany.
