Edwin was the second child in a family of twelve known children. His brothers and sisters were: Henry J., b. 1886; Regina B., b. 1889; Lucinda, b. 1891; Callustus P., b. 1892; Charlotte M., b. 1894; Elizabeth A., b. 1897; Rosalia A., 1898; James, 1901; Gilbert, 1903; John, 1909, and Ruben.
Edwin was only 10 when he died in 1897. He and many members of his family are all buried in St. Benedict Cemetery.
