Parsons Sun, July 16, 1942: The Martin funeral home received word yesterday of the death of William Roy Willis which occurred at his home in Chicago last Wednesday. The graveside services were held at the Galesburg Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Wogan of Galesburg. Mr. Willis is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth Nicoll and Mrs. Pauline Hall, both of Chicago; two brothers, Clyde and Floyd Willis, both of Galesburg, and one sister, Mrs. Zella Dunivant of Parsons. He was a former school teacher in Galesburg and was principal of the Garfield school about 22 years ago. After leaving Parsons he taught in Independence two years then went to Chicago where he completed his studies for a master's degree. Since that time he has been teaching in Chicago.
