The Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Sylvester N.
"Nickie" Kuklok, age 83, of Holdingford will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 15, 2006 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Opole. Reverend Mark Stang will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Nickie died Thursday, May 11, 2006 at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday and after 10:00 a.m. on Monday at the church in Opole. Parish prayers will be at 6:00 p.m. followed by the Catholic War Veterans and Auxiliary at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday at the church in Opole.
Arrangements were by the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud.
Nickie was born on December 6, 1922 in Opole, Minnesota to Isadore and Katherine (Schneider) Kuklok. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII serving as a motor machinist. Nickie married Marcella D. "Marcie" Krupa on November 16, 1948. He operated a dairy farm in the Holdingford area, was employed by the U.S. Postal Service and owned and operated Opole Implement, retiring in 1991. Nickie was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish, and a founding and charter member of the Catholic War Veterans of Opole.
Nickie was especially proud of graduating from the Waste Water Treatment program at the St. Cloud Technical College in 1974. As a Master Gardener, Nickie enjoyed tending to his fruit orchard and garden.
Nickie is survived by his son, James N. (Joyce) Kuklok of Rice; daughter, Janie (Jim) Frie of Little Falls; five grandchildren, Jeffrey (Maria) Frie of Waite Park, Jon Frie of Fergus Falls, Joseph Frie of San Diego, California, Jesse (Michelle) Kuklok of Sauk Rapids, and Jamie (Allison) Kuklok of St. Cloud; two great grandsons, Austin and Braden Kuklok; brother and sisters, Marie Peternell of St. Stephen, Raymond (Lillian) Kuklok of Sauk Rapids and Evelyn (Wendelin) Neis of St. Cloud.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marcie on February 10, 2005 and son, Thomas P. Kuklok on February 26, 1980, brothers and sisters, Edward, Bernard, Pauline, Roman, Philip, Thomas, Mary and Ambrose Kuklok.
