Mrs. William Pfeiffer of New Holstein passed away last Thursday evening at the St. Nicholas hospital in Sheboygan, following an illness of sixteen years duration.
The deceased was born in Schleswig, Manitowoc County, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Elmegreen, on April 15, 1876. On September 29, 1897 she was married to William Pfeiffer, and since that time has been a a resident of New Holstein.
Survivors are her husband, seven sons, Raymond of Mission, Texas, Lawrence, Zeno and William, Jr., of New Holstein, Lester of Plymouth, Leslie of Grafton, and Technical Sergeant Ralph, serving overseas; two daughters, Edith and Mrs. Ted (Rachel) Ryan of Milwaukee; sixteen grandchildren, three brothers, Edward of Davenport, Iowa, August of Oshkosh, and George of Stockbridge; three sisters, Mrs. Henry Sell of New Holstein, Mrs. Walther McBain of Madison and Mrs. Fred Gensch of Oshkosh. A daughter, Alfrieda preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held from the Erbe-Hoffmann Funeral Home, with the Rev. A. George Schmid, pastor of the St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church officiating.
