Fred Crockett Bogle, 85, of Lynchburg, died Tuesday, July 29, 1997. He was the husband of the late Mabel Ruth Brown Bogle. Mr. Bogle was born March 3, 1912 in Ceres in Bland County to the late Andrew Napoleon Bogle and the late Luvenia Pruett Bogle. He was a member of Providence United Methodist Church, and a retired farmer at Glenacre Farm. He is survived by his sons and their wives, Dwight E. and Elizabeth Bogle of Roanoke, Dr. Emory C. Bogle of Richmond, H. Gale and Peggy Bogle of Salem, Ronald W. and Mary Jo Bogle of Minneapolis, Minn, Larry W. and Judee Bogle and W. Wendell and Judy Bogle, both of Lynchburg; his daughters and their husbands, Evelyn B. and Norman Larrimer of Sanford, N.C., Kay B. and Larry McFadden of Fredericksburg; his sisters, Selma B. Weaver of Silver Spring, Md., Ella Sue Bish of Pennsylvania; and 22 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Freddie Keith Bogle. A funeral service will be conducted 10 a.m. Thursday at Woodall-Tharp Chapel with the Reverend Ronald T. Davidson officiating. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Woodall-Tharp Funeral Home. Interment will be 11 a.m. Friday in Sharon Cemetery, Ceres. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Newberry Funeral Home, Ceres. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 2316 Atherholt Road, Lynchburg, Va. Woodall-Tharp Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
