Gene M. Peery, 63, died Saturday at SS. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital. She was the former Gene Moomaw, a native of Roanoke, Va., a retired registered nurse for SS. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital and a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. Survivors: her husband, Howard A. Peery; two sons, John and Joe Peery; a sister, Edna Miller of Lexington, Va.; a brother, Thurston Moomaw of Roanoke; and a grandchild. Funeral: 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, O. D. White & Sons Funeral Home, 2727 S. Third St., with entombment in Evergreen Mausoleum. Visitation from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Monday.
