MEENA - Richard Sr., 77, of Louisville, passed away Sunday, April 30, 2006, at Jewish Hospital. He was a retired pharmacist and the former owner of the Douglass Pharmacy for many years. Richard was an active member and vestryman of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, and was also member of the U of K Alumni Association, American Board of Pharmacy, and Highland American Legion Post # 201. He served his country during the Korean conflict in the Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, Abraham and Latifa Naiser Meena; and siblings, Della, Elmaris, Emily, Elizabeth, Jacob (Cy) and Alex. Survivors include his loving wife, the former Dolores Haddad; a son, Richard Meena Jr. (Caroline); and a daughter, Claire Meena-Leist (Bart Leist); three grandchildren, Anthony, Lydia and Sam; three brothers, Edward, Nicholas and Lincoln Meena; and many devoted nieces, nephews and cousins. His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at his church, 2233 Woodbourne Avenue, with burial following in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at Ratterman and Sons, 3800 Bardstown Road. Memorial gifts may be directed to the church or to Kosair Charities.
