STAYTON - Born to John and Teresa Fery at the family farm in Stayton, Ore. on Aug. 8, 1935, he married Helen Provost in Silverton, Ore. on April 26, 1958. They have three children, Randy, Gina, and Don.
Eugene graduated from Stayton High School in 1954. He lived in Stayton all his life, retiring from Norpac in 1997 after 43 years. Eugene was a loyal husband, father, and friend. He was known as a man who loved life, as his family and friends will attest. Growing up on a farm, he was accustomed to hard work and never complained when there was a job to be done. This work ethic carried through in all aspects of his life. He enjoyed doing things with family and friends, especially spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Helen; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Jill Fery of Stayton; son, Donald Fery of Scio; daughter, Gina Martin of Maple Valley, Wash.; grandchildren, Jake and Trista Fery, Jonathon Martin, and Nick and Sarah Fery; sister and brother-in-law, Doneva and Bill Stienkamp of Aumsville; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Carol Fery of Spokane, Wash.; sister, Louene Ferguson of Los Angeles, Calif.; and Tiffany Cruz, and Anthony and Rebecca Thompson.
Visiting will be held from 4 to 8:30 p.m., Thursday, June 30, 2005 at Weddle Funeral Home, Stayton. Rosary will be held at 7 p.m., Thursday, June 30 and services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, July 1 both at Immaculate Conception Church, Stayton. Private interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Stayton. Contributions may be made to St. Mary's School, Stayton or Regis High School, Stayton. Arrangements are by Weddle Funeral Home, Stayton.
