Son of Peter and Elizabeth Auler (Patz); born August 6, 1893, Tarentum, Pa. Moved to Alexandria, Madison County, Ind. in 1896. Working in Kansas City, Mo., when he enlisted in Company E, 1st Infantry (Company E, 138th Infantry), Missouri National Guard. Sent to Camp Doniphan, Okla. Went overseas in May, 1918. Died October 10, 1918 in France, from wounds received in action. (Place of burial unknown). May be buried in France and this is just a memorial stone??
