Eliza was the daughter of Henry "Lord Harry" Graddy (Grady) and Elizabeth Outlaw. On 23 March 1824 in Jones County, North Carolina, Eliza married Daniel Hargett "D. H." Simmons. Their children were Stephen Henry, Ann Elizabeth "Eliza," Francis Alexander, Amos William, Nancy Penelope, Sarah Mariah "Sallie," Mary Caroline, Julian "Julie," Catherine, Barbara, and Emmaline S. Daniel and Eliza Anne settled on a Plantantion near Ablertson in Duplin County, NC, and built a home which they called "Waterloo" and it is now owned (2008) by Dr. Dan Fagg who is a direct descendant.
