Manuel Ulibarri, age 73, a longtime resident of Las Vegas, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at the Alta Vista Regional Hospital.

He was born in Maes, N.M., on Nov. 18, 1935, to the late Juan Santiago Ulibarri and Rosa Griego Ulibarri.

He was co-owner and car salesman for Art's Car Lot. He loved ranching, horses, hunting, and roping.

A lifetime Catholic, he was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas and a member of the Knights of Columbus and Woodmen of the World.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Juan Santiago and Rosa Ulibarri; sisters: Grace Gonzales and Ida Segura; brothers: Jim Ulibarri and Felix Ulibarri; brothers-in-law: Albert Gonzales, John Korte, Pete Lovato, and Archie Archuleta and sister-in-law: Molly Ulibarri.

He is survived by his daughter, Jayme Ulibarri of Mora, N.M.; sisters and brother: Pita Ulibarri and Enedine Korte both of Las Vegas, Leonore Lovato of Española, N.M., and Stella Archuleta of San Pablo, Calif., and Arthur Ulibarri and wife Eva of Las Vegas, N.M.; numerous: nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Cremation has taken place. Rosary devotional services will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas. Funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Church with Father George V. Salazar as celebrant. Interment will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
