Elba M. Scott, 88, a retired administrative assistant, died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 1997, in Fort Worth.

Graveside service: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, in Pinecrest Cemetery in Mobile, Ala. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Robertson Mueller Harper.

Memorials: American Heart Association.

Elba M. Scott was a graduate of Springhill College in Mobile. She was an administrative assistant with Civil Service, helping Air Force members to complete their education. She was a member of University Christian Church, the Womans Club of Fort Worth, past member of the Mobile Womans Club, past president of the International Toastmistress, N.A.R.F.E. and Church Women United.

Survivors: Son, Lester Wheeler and his wife, Cathy, of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Ashley, Britton and Preston Wheeler of Fort Worth; Susan Ann Mitchell of Florida, Lester Wheeler Jr. of Texas, Cheryl Lynn Oliver of Virginia and Cliffton Wheeler of Florida; and a niece, Letha Woolverton.
