Bowman - George C. Shuler, 67, a retired Orangeburg County Deputy sheriff, died Friday near Rowesville. The funeral will be 5 p.m. Saturday at Bowman Southern Methodist Church. Burial will be in Bowman Cemetery, directed by Dukes-Harley Funeral Home. Mr. Shuler was born in Orangeburg County, a son off the late Grover Cleveland Shuler and Mrs. Sally Zeigler Shuler. He was a member of the Bowman Southern Methodist Church and the Elks Lodge. He retired the first of 1973, after serving 32 years with the sheriff's department. Surviving are: his widow, Mrs. Ennie Berry Shuler of Bowman; two daughters, Mrs. Sandra S. Crook of Columbia, and Mrs. Timothy W. Lee of Orangeburg; two sons, Grover C. Shuler of Columbia and G. Robert Shuler of Bowman; three brothers, Frank D. Shuler, W. Benton Shuler, both of Bowman, and Claude W. Shuler of Orangeburg; and nine grandchildren.
