Lloyd Chipman Accidentally Shoots Himself With Revolver
American Fork, Jan. 13-Lloyd Chipman accidentally shot and killed himself this morning. He had borrowed a revolver for the purpose of shooting some cats. This morning he took it out to the barn with him and in a few minutes he was found by another boy lying on the floor of the barn with a bullet hole through his brain. He lived but a few minutes. The gun was an old affair of .38 calibre, and it is presumed that the gun missed fire and he was examining it to see what was the difficulty when it went off. He was 16 years old and the son of Willard and Ann Chipman. An inquest was held and a verdict of accidental killing rendered.

Funeral of Lloyd Chipman
American Fork, Jan. 15-One of the saddest funerals held here for some time occured today in Science hall over the remains of Master Lloyd Chipman, the 16-year-old boy of Willard and Annie Clark Chipman who lost his life through the accidental discharge of a revolver at his father's home day before yesterday morning. The young man was a model and unassuming boy, and his mother and father are nearly frantic over his tragic end. It was his birthday on the day he was shot, being just 16 years old.
A number of speakers spoke at the services, all of them giving words of comfort to the bereaved family. The stake choir rendered several very pretty pieces. Will Patrick of Salt Lake sang very beautifully that touching piece, "Then Will We Understand." The casket was literally covered with beautiful floral offerings of sympathetic friends and relatives.
