He was born Oct 20, 1909, in the town of New Holstein, a son of the late Edwin and Johanna Drews Kuehl. He attended J.J. Meade Grade School in the town of New Holstein. Hans served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He farmed in the town of New Holstein all his life.
Hans enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping. He and his brother, Gilmore, were well noted for cutting ice blocks off of Schildhauer's Pond to supply to many area individuals. He loved to watch the Packers and the Brewers.
He is survived by his best friends, Wayne Wettstein and Martin "Ifty" Philippi, both of New Holstein; and nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Hilton and Gilmore Kuehl; and two sisters, Regina Kuehl and Anna Rabe.
Arwin Kuehl Services: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 29, 2007, at the Sippel Funeral Home, 2618 Altona Ave., New Holstein. The Rev. James E. Werner will officiate. Burial will be at the New Holstein City Cemetery.
Visitation: Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of services on Thursday, March 29, 2007, at the Sippel Funeral Home in New Holstein. The Sippel Funeral Home in New Holstein, (920) 8984300, is assisting with arrangements.
