Henry Kaiser, 81, of 720 Center St., Kiel, a well known inventor and manufacturer of farm implement specialities, died Sunday morning a Calumet Memorial Hospital Chilton. He suffered a series of strokes and had been a patient at the hospital since April 24.
He was born in the Town of Schleswig May 23, 1883, the son of Peter and Johanna Kaiser, the 11th of 13 children. He was the last surviving member of the family. Mr. Kaiser was married in the Town of Eaton March 11, 1908, to Araminta Hanssen. This year marked their 56th wedding anniversary. He began his work as a sheet metal apprentice in New Holstein in 1906 and in 1912 purchased a farm implement business in New Holstein. He invented and manufactured an automatic tractor hitch and was credited with several other inventions relating to farm implements. The Automatic tractor hitch was designed particularly for plowing stony soil. During his career he was associated with the Arps Company at New Holstein and Stoelting Brothers and Household Utilities at Kiel.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Elmer, Scarsdale, N.Y., and several nieces and nephews.
