ELGIN - Dorothea Waneta Chenoweth, 73, died Monday, Oct. 11, 1999, in Asta Care Center, Elgin. Born Aug. 12, 1926, in Bloom City, Wis., to Pinkney W. and Mabel Alice Ferguson Weeden. Rockford resident for 30 years, moving to Austin, Texas, in 1973 lived in Mountain Home, Ark., and Knoxville, Tenn., moving to Elgin in 1997. Employed by Smith Oil Co., Rockford, as a secretary for 20 years and 12 years at Texas Commerce Bank, Austin. Attended Larkin Avenue Baptist Church, Elgin. Survivors: daughter, Cheryl (John) Wilkins of Elgin grandchildren, Dorothy C. Wilkins of Knoxville and Lewis Chenoweth Wilkins of Elgin sister, Wanda Weeden of West Salem, Wis. and brothers, Howard (Beth) Weeden of Mountain Home and Maynard (Marveline) Weeden of Wisconsin. Predeceased by parents sisters, Naomi Whale, Merita Hartje, Nelda Fortner and Janice "Patty" Gunderson and brothers, Willard and Bernard Weeden.

Services at 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15, in Larkin Avenue Baptist Church, with the Rev. Richard Sanders officiating. Burial in Memorial Hill Park Cemetery, Austin. Visitation 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, in Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St. Memorials to the church Sunday school program. 10-14-2
