At age 15, he ran away to join the military...they sent him back home. His mother finally signed the paper so he could join the Navy at age 15. William served during WWII in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific. He was a Quality Inspector for General Electric Corporation until he retired in 1988. He was married January 16, 1950 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and has 3 children.
