Obit: William Althaus, 74, died Friday in his home at Pierson after a brief illness. He was born May 11, 1885, in Germany. He came to the United States as a young man. He married Amelia Rock February 27, 1908, at Rock Branch. Survivors include the widow, three sons, William of Minneapolis and Herbert and Bruce, both of Pierson; a daughter, Mrs. Lorna Buss of Sioux City, a niece who formerly resided with the family, Mrs. Norma Bober of Orlando, Florida, and a brother, Otto, in Germany. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Salem Lutheran Church with Rev. John Deines officiating. Burial will be in the Fairfield Cemetery, Rock Branch, under direction of Dickison Funeral Home of Kingsley.
