NORMAN WILSON, SR., was a Korean War Veteran. He enlisted in 1948 at Fort Benning, Chattahoochee County, Georgia, as Private in the U.S. Army with the 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment of the 82nd Airborne Division. He served as a Clerk Typist in Georgia, California, and North Carolina. He attained the rank of Staff Sergeant (SSGT) and received an Honorable Discharge in 1952 at Fayetteville, Cumberland County, North Carolina.

When NORMAN was born on 1 Feb 1932, in Genesee, Genesee, Michigan, his father, JOHN TILLMAN WILSON, III, was 34 and his mother, LILLIE MELINDA SNIDER, was 33. He was the 5th of 6 children, plus 1 oldest brother born to his father's first wife, MARY ELSIE BROWN WILSON EASTMAN STRAWN:

•Delmar Eugene 'Curly' Wilson, WWII Veteran, US Army, SSgt (half-brother)
•Vernon Charles Wilson, WWII Veteran, US Army, PFC
•Amna Louise Wilson Wolfe, WWII Veteran, US Navy WAVE, S1C
•Dorothy 'Skip' Wilson Cook 1925-2014
•Calvin (—) Wilson, WWII Veteran, US Navy, S2C
•Norman (—) Wilson, Korean War Veteran, US Army, Sgt
•Marion Joyce Wilson Whitaker

NORMAN married MARY ELIZABETH TOWNSEND in 1951 in North Carolina, and they had 4 children in 18 years:
•Norman Lee Wilson, Jr.
•Gary John Wilson
•Gregory Joel Wilson
•Jeffrey Calvin Wilson

After serving in the U.S. Army, his civilian career was as a salesman. He looked so much like his half-brother, [Delmar Eugene 'Curly' Wilson], who was 16 years older; and like DELMAR, NORMAN suffered a brain aneurysm; but thanks to the tender loving care and speech retraining efforts of his wife, MARY, he enjoyed complete health for a few decades. He died on 3 Jan 2009, in Flushing, Genesee, Michigan, at the age of 76, and was honored with a military burial at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Oakland, Michigan.
