MRS. JOE ACHATZ
Mrs. Joe (Elizabeth) Achatz, 88, of Carroll, died early Wednesday morning, July 28, at the St. Anthony Nursing Home. She had entered the home Monday after being in St. Anthony Hospital for 3 weeks.
Requiem mass will be read at 10 a.m. Friday at SS. Peter and Paul Church by the Rev. Leo Lenz. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery under direction of the Twit Funeral Home, where friends may call after 7 p.m. Wednesday.
The rosary will be recited at 3, 8 and 9 p.m. Thursday. The 8 p.m. recitation, led by Father Lenz, will be by the Christian Mothers.
Mrs. Achatz, a Carroll resident for 60 years, was born Jan. 4, 1877, at Roselle. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. Joe Schwaller. She received her education at Holy Angels School, Roselle, and on Jan. 25, 1919, married Joe Achatz at Carroll. She was a member of the Christian Mothers.
Surviving are her husband, a resident of St. Anthony Nursing Home, and several nephews and nieces. The last of her family, she was preceded in death by one sister and several brothers.
