Pioneer Citizen Passes Away - Louisa Allen, Widow of Dr. Allen, a practicing Physician of Eminence 50 years ago, Died at her home near Montier.

News reached Eminence last Monday of the death of Mrs. Louisa Allen, of near Montier on Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Allen had been to visit friends during the day and was feeling in her usual health. She had suffered stomach attacks for years and complained to a young lady who was living with her and ask for some sweet milk, this did not relieve and she stated that she was feeling worse and ask for a different potion. On returning the last, the young lady found Mrs. Allen in a dying condition. She went quickly and peacefully after a life of 78 or 79 years fraught with good deeds and kindly ministrations to those sick or distressed.

Mrs. Allen was the widow of Doctor Allen who practiced medicine at Eminence and Montier a half century ago, and who has been dead for some forty years.

Mrs. Allen was the mother of two children, Albert, who has remained at home with his mother, and a daughter who died several years ago. She also has two or three grandchildren, children of the daughter, the son Albert having never married. Albert was in South Dakota when the sad news reached him, being away at work in the harvest and threshing season.

She will be buried at the Baptist Cemetery near Birch Tree today. Mrs. Allen was a consistent Christian woman, and practiced her Christianity in her daily walk of life. She will be missed very much in the community of Montier.
