Al was one of ten children born to William S. Moore and his second wife, Asenath E. Lambert. He farmed in Nebraska and Iroquois County, Illinois. He married Margaret L. Gaskill on February 10, 1892. They had four known sons. Al's death was result of injuries sustained in automobile accident. He and his wife were members of the Christian Church in Watseka, Illinois.
